Commentary

In 2 Chronicles 26, we read about the reign of King Uzziah of Judah. Uzziah was a righteous king who followed the Lord and was blessed with great success. He was a successful military leader, and he fortified the cities of Judah and built towers and walls. He also had a great agricultural success, and he was able to provide food for the people of Judah. Uzziah was so successful that he became proud and arrogant. He even entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense, which was a job reserved for the priests. For this, he was struck with leprosy and was forced to live in isolation for the rest of his life. This chapter serves as a reminder to us that even the most successful and righteous people can fall into pride and arrogance. We must always remember to stay humble and to put God first in our lives. Uzziah's story is a warning to us to not let our success go to our heads and to always remember to put God first.
